An Overdue Vacation

Last month we had an all family outing. It’s been more than a year since we all went out together. We decided to go to Kerala. Kerala is one of the most beautiful places in India. It’s known as ” Gods Own Country “. Our group consisted of 33 members ranging from my 5 year old niece to 70 year old grandmother. It was a 10 days trip.

Of all the places we visited the most beautiful one was Munnar. It’s a hill station on the Western Ghats. It’s attractions include mountains, country’s highest tea gardens, waterfalls and wildlife. We spent 1day and 2 nights in a tea garden resort. By the time we reached Munnar from Athirapally Waterfalls it was already dark and we were all tired of uphill drive to the resort.

The next morning my cousin woke us up at 5am for a walk in the tea gardens. The sun wasn’t up yet and the air was cool and refreshing.

On our way to Eravikulam national park, our bus broke down. While we were waiting for the bus, we came across Echo Point along with some other attractions like boat riding and a local market.

By the time we reached the Eravikulam national park it’s was noon. Eravikulam national park is famous for the endangered mountain goat,Nilgiri Thar (Hemitragus hylocrious). We had to first take a bus had to hike a few kms. While we were hiking we didn’t come across any goats but the view was beautiful.

After this we went to Allepy. Well I will talk about the remaining of the trip in the next post. Have a nice day 🙂
